Automated dialect recognition has been used in Germany by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) to determine an asylum seeker’s place of origin.
Screening Regulation: «indication of nationalities or statelessness» (article 17(1) (b)) in the screening form, specifying if the information recorded has been «declared by the person» or «confirmed by the authorities» (article17(3)).
