In Albania, people on the move have their fingerprints and personal data extracted by police at the Gjadër CPR (Centro di permanenza per il rimpatrio). Subsequently, this data is entered into a system referred to as TIMS (Total Information Management System), a system that has been subject to cyberattacks and data breaches. TIMS is not yet full interoperable with EU systems; still, under the under the Safe Third Country (STC) provision of the New Pact, data registered in Albania would indicate a basis to reject an asylum claim in the EU, given Albania's designation as an STC.
